I thought this was a nice safety feature so I sprang for the (almost) $200.00 accessory. Turns out that the blue lenses where a significant feature to aid in visibility. So beyond the idea of safety for having the blinkers there where vehicle at your side can more readily see my intentions to change lanes or to turn, there is also an improved ability to see because of the blue treatment of the glass which reduces glare.

An additional note… The auto cancel feature of the blinkers may sometime cancel your signal and if you are not looking at those little amber dashboard lights you may miss noticing that your blinker has stopped… Not much chance of that with these.
